The U.S. 5th Army, located at Fort Sam Houston, Texas, monitors the training and mobilization readiness of the U.S. National Guard and Reserve units from 21 states. In peacetime, command authority for all of the National Guard belongs to the governor of each state and is exercised through the state Adjutant General.
Need
Due to aging information technology, the 5th Army needed a new OC to provide real-time support to federal and state agencies in a time of crisis.
Response
EyakTek designed the OC, custom tailored to the 5th Army's requirements. We procured the materials, integrated all networks and systems, implemented the solution, and provided high-level IT and A/V design and architecture, followed by on-site operational, maintenance, and logistical support for the completed OC. We completed the entire project on time and within budget.
Result
The new facility provides cutting edge technical capabilities to support the 21 states for which the 5th Army is responsible, and working in a state-of-the-art facility has improved the troops’ morale. EyakTek continues to provide day-to-day support for the OC.
