Ms. Andrews was elected to the Board of Directors in Q1 of 2002. She brings many years of experience in federal contracting, small business development, and management to the company through a combination of work in the private and the public sector. Ms. Andrews founded The Andrews Group Inc. in 1987, which today performs operations and management services for the U.S. Army, U.S. Air Force, and other federal and private sector organizations.
Ms. Andrews previously served four years as the Deputy Commissioner and then Commissioner of Administration for the State of Alaska. In this role, she was responsible for managing an annual operating budget of over $250 million, developing policy, and providing administrative support for the state government. Prior to her tenure with the state, she served as the Director of Human Resources for the Municipality of Anchorage, responsible for over 3,500 employees.
Ms. Andrews has received several awards for outstanding service including the 1998 Small Business Administration's Small Business Person of the Year for Alaska, the 1995 ATHENA award in recognition of her outstanding leadership, excellence, and dedication to promoting women-owned businesses, and the 1994 YWCA Woman of Achievement Award.
Ms. Andrews attended California State University and the University of Alaska. She currently is a board officer for the Anchorage Chamber of Commerce, Anchorage Neighborhood Housing Services, and the Anchorage Municipal Housing Association. Further, she serves on the advisory boards for the University of Alaska and the Small Business Development Center.
