INTRO TO EYAKTEK

Eyak Technology, LLC (“EyakTek”) is a diversified federal contractor with expertise in communications solutions, information technology solutions, healthcare services, and architecture & engineering services.  We are committed to solving problems for DoD and Civilian federal agencies.  As an Alaska Native-owned, 8(a)-certified company, we are also committed to providing socio-economic benefits for our community of Native shareholders.

We offer solutions that allow the Government to improve operations, provide critical data to facilitate informed decision making, and protect our citizens from common threats.  In every project we perform, our staff not only has excellent subject matter expertise, but also an understanding and appreciation for the application of our technology, the problems it is solving, and the benefits that will result.

For example, we are increasing the chances of survival for our troops in Iraq through satellite communications.  We are allowing federal law enforcement agencies to quickly and more easily communicate with local and state authorities in emergency situations, through private wireless networks.  We are saving lives every day in the military medical health community by providing a variety of healthcare professionals.  We are building facilities that prepare U.S. Army personnel for emergency situations.  And we are ensuring the safety of students, government workers, and residents from fire hazards and security issues.

A LOW RISK CONTRACTOR

When the Government selects a contractor to perform critical work, performance risk is always a key factor of consideration.  Mitigating common performance risks, EyakTek has excellent financial qualifications and is able to take on projects of any size or complexity.  We directly employ our own subject matter experts and project staff to avoid potential problems often caused by deferring responsibility to third-parties.  And our staff has a thorough understanding of complex federal contracting regulations, as well as detailed program requirements for each task, in order to mitigate contractual or technical compliance risks.

We are proud that our customers have routinely recognized the outstanding achievements of our project teams and the results they have produced.  In recognition of our success in building an Army Operations Center, we were awarded a General’s Coin for outstanding performance.  In recognition of our on-going support of a major DoD communications contract, we were issued the 2004 Supplier of the Year award from one of the industry’s largest integrators.  And as a testament to our excellent past performance, we have received considerable repeat business from many of our customers.

GIVING BACK

The Eyak people originated along the Eastern Coast of the Prince William Sound, where the town of Cordova, Alaska is located.  They lived in wooden plank houses, used dugout canoes, and relied on salmon and other local resources for their food supply.  The Eyak tribe was never very large.  Today, there are fewer than 400 Eyak Natives.

The Eyak Corporation was formed under the Alaska Native Claims Settlement Act (ANCSA) in 1973, as the town of Cordova's Native organization.  The Eyak Corporation is an Alaska Native village Corporation (ANC) owned by native shareholders.  In fact, much of The Eyak Corporation’s management is made up of its shareholders.  The Eyak Corporation uses its profits to protect the Eyak native culture, heritage, and land, which is accomplished through diversified business pursuits.  EyakTek was created as a subsidiary of The Eyak Corporation, as one of these diversified business pursuits.

EyakTek is committed to providing socio-economic benefits for our community of native shareholders.  To accomplish this, we are involved in a number of charitable activities each year.  For example, we hold annual charity golf tournaments that have raised over $15,000 for the Cordova Native Foundation, which provides scholarships to Alaska Native youths.  We have also held book drives that provided over 14,000 books to the Cordova Public Library.  And we are involved in many other programs to benefit the Alaskan and Washington, D.C. communities.  For more information about how EyakTek is giving back, click here.
